Plumbing contracting market to grow 6% in 2015, forecasts AMA Research

The plumbing contractors market is forecast to grow by 6% this year and could be worth £17.1bn by the end of 2019, according to a new report by AMA Research.

The ‘Plumbing Contractors Market Report - UK 2015-2019 Analysis’ estimates that the market achieved a value of £14.7bn last year, having reaped the benefits from improved business confidence and construction activity, which increased sharply.

It said indications for 2015 were 'positive', with opportunities for growth in the new housing sector, which AMA Research director Keith Taylor said was “being driven by rising prices, increased mortgage lending, as well as a growing uptake of the government’s ‘Help to Buy’ programme”.

The company said: “It is likely that as the economy improves and consumer confidence grows, an increasing number of consumers will begin to focus on higher value, big ticket projects such as kitchens and bathrooms.”
