International Decorative Surfaces – IDS – has raised over £8,800 for Macmillan Cancer Support after holding a charity auction and raffle as part of its annual conference.
Prizes auctioned off at the end of the two-day conference at the Imperial War Museum in Manchester included a signed Mark Cavendish cycling shirt, a TV, a golf day at Woburn Abbey, and stays in holiday properties in Dubai, Majorca and Turkey. The raffle included experience days, an iPad and a Fortnum and Mason hamper.
The funds are in addition to more than £461,000 raised for the charity by IDS’ parent company Saint-Gobain through its ‘Together’ initiative. Since launching in 2002, the scheme has raised £2.3m.
IDS MD John Bagshaw said: “I thank everyone who took part in the auction, whether it was by donating a prize or bidding on the night. We all have an opportunity to make a difference and this provided us with a fantastic start to our fundraising in 2015 and we have many more events planned throughout the year.”
