The Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom Installers – iKBBI – is collaborating with the Furniture Ombudsman – TFO – to set installation standards within the industry.
The iKBBI said the initiative will involve vital development work around definition of independent installation standards within the KBB sector – which is 'a key objective' supported by members and key organisations within the industry.
It will also work with the TFO on independent inspection to provide a national network of field-based inspectors, specialised in on-site KBB dispute resolution, which it says will 'open up exciting opportunities' for the institute and its members, as well as offer 'greater protection for the consumer'.
TFO chief executive Kevin Grix said: “We’re delighted to be working with the iKBBI and look forward to exploring long-term opportunities in addition to short-term quick-wins.”
